The Westfellas are a group of guys who met each whilst kite boarding in Gunnersbury park.
It took about 3 years for them to take their “after kite” beer drinking from the park to the pub where they all talked about starting a club, but not just any old club mind. The boys, all from England, Spain, Italy, Poland, Australia, South-Africa and the planet Kryptonite, wanted a club or society that was informal, fun and also created opportunity to get out kiting on a much more regular basis. Because everything is so relaxed and mellow with the Fellas, they felt that only a few rules should be enforced, most importantly of which is the rule of safety. We eat, breathe, work and break our bones for kiting and we try to help as many people interested in this great sport to get hooked as much as we are.
Riding with the Fellas:
To fly & ride with us we ask that you follow the very small list of requirements below:
1. Insurance – If you want to fly with us, you have to have insurance. We recomend BPKA.
2. Protect your peanut & wear protective gear. These guys seem reasonable: Bargain boards
3. Don’t be an asshole, encourage assholes or asshole like behaviour. Life’s too short for hard learned life lessons.
4. Keep our Park clean, pick up after your dog, only leave good memories & consider becoming a friend of Gunnersbury Park
5. Remember that it’s not the dog’s fault but his inconsiderate ignorant owner who needs lot’s of love. Do the Westfella thing, stay calm & be cool.
6. Greet non flying visitors to the park as you style by. They may just join you next time or bring their hot sister.
7. If you want to know when & or where we are flyin, check out our kite-buddi page or participate in the chat.
If you have any questions, we’d love to hear from you so feel free to get in touch
