Kitesurfing in Poland

Beach in Leba

I just came back from my summer holidays in Poland, and I have to say as always I a had great time with my friends and family. But is not what I want tell about.

During my holidays I went to this great summer spot on thr Polish sea side wish called – LEBA. I went with my friends and girl to some camping, sizzling on the beach and of course kitesurfing.

Leba is a great place which has a lot on offer for tourist like a lot of places to eat, dance and have some fun – e.g. go-carts, tree walks, sheep carouses and many, many others stuff which never get you bored – of course if there is no rain :) There are many places to stay like private quarters which are not very expensive, or hotels but thoe as everywhere not that cheep. Or My favourite way to spend summer holidays – camping. In Leba is full of them and I have to say there are cheeeeeep! Average price for one night with your tent and car it come to about 20zl which is about £5. So would recommended that to everyone who like stay in close touch with nature. Place which we stayed was called Marco Polo and is well organized and  very clean, with showers and toilets and everything what you need.

But lets foucs on kitesurfing and what this place may offer for any one who would like to try this water sport – or what is called extreme sport.

Well – it’s just great. There are two spots to do kitesurfing.

First one is beach.

Beach is sandy long and very nice, but is not wide and it is only soft and so there is no chance to landboard or buggy. Unfortunately during the summer is full of people, so sometime you have to walk about 1mile form entrance to get some space and lunch your kite safely. Shallow water is only about 10m from shore, so if you not experience or juts starting it maybe not the best place to learn, but still you could do some body drags or some basic kite flying.

But I have to say sea with waves – hmmm that as just pure fun. Event on the beginning I was sacred like hell, after when I used it – well my fiends everyone who landboard should try kitesurfing in waves and that will give some new sensation.

But in Leba there is another place where you can kitsurf. It’s called LEBSKO LAKE and it is about 2miles from Leba, so is not that far and you can get there easily by car. This place is perfect fro any one who start kitesurfing, lake is shallow and really, really big so, you don’t have to be worry, wherever you stop or crash you stand easily, and grab your board or just walk back to shore J

One of the great advantages of LEBA is that there is not many kitesurfer coming there over the summer, compare to other very popular polish spot – HEL, where during the season is full of kites and there is no space to do anything.

In summary I would recommend this Polish summer resort for any one, but specially to kitesurfes and windsurfers.

I hope you’ll get there some day and enjoy this place as much as I did.
